Turning waste into energy: a talk with the experts

September 2, 2014 - In the framework of the Stockholm Water Week conference 2014, the AWF held a panel discussion focused on the use of human waste for energy as a way to help overcome Africa's energy and water challenges.
Mr. Brian Aborgast from the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation, Dr. Kala Vairavamoorthy from University of South Florida and Dr. Akissa Bahri from the AWF presented various aspects of sanitation and integrated urban water management. AThe Honorable Minister of the Environment, Saviour Kasukuwere, chaired the session, while Mr Peter Akari, Chief Water Policy at the AWF, moderated.
